Fun, energetic and responsive. :) Hello, My name is Cathy and I am a 31 old full-time social worker looking for some addition casual/regular evening/weekend work to support me through my Masters Degree. I have a very broad range of experience working with children from 2 until 18 years old. I have worked for over four years as a youth worker for children in residential state care, so have exceptional skills at managing complex and potentially difficult behaviours. I have worked extensively with young children with Autism, I have a very through knowledge of behaviours of children on the spectrum, and have a quick ability to adapt and to recognise their triggers and work with calming mechanisms and safe spaces. I am currently studying my Master of Social Work and really enjoy working with families and working alongside them to see their children supported to the best of their ability. I have worked with children of all ages from changing nappies to supporting teenagers to learn to drive. I have my DHS Working with children check, DHS working with vulnerable persons check and National Police Clearance. In addition I have a Senior First-Aid Certificate and full manual drivers license. I am the oldest of 5 children, so have come with a natural babysitting ability. I am happy to baby-sit at your place, take children to extra-curricular activities or fun outings, cook dinner, help with homework, support with social and life skills, assist in transportation, support bed times and after-school routines, help with washing/cleaning etc. I am available most evenings of the week from 5.30PM onwards and happy to stay and complete any night routines etc. I am looking at 2-3 nights per week to fit in with my current work and study.
