I have experience in lifeguarding and have first aid and CPR qualifications, as well as experience in swim teaching for young children (AUSTSWIM qualification). I have plenty of experience in babysitting, which included getting kids ready for events, cleaning the house, swimming supervision and teaching and tutoring and assisting in homework and school assignments. I'm especially passionate about English and English literature, the arts, and the importance of creativity and self expression for kids. I pride myself on maintaining an open and honest channel of communication for both parents and children, and work to encourage expression of emotion and effective communication in the kids I work with. I have been told I have a gentle and encouraging teaching style, and a patient and attentive dedication to the children in my care. With your approval, I also like to provide kids with small journals, and encourage them to write about what they do during the day (and draw pictures!) This can help them develop great writing habits, improve spelling, boost creativity and create an awesome channel of communication when it comes to telling you how their day went. I also enjoy cooking and can make yummy and healthy meals for the family. I play minimal piano and can assist in reading notes. I would love to meet with you and your family!
