G'day mums and dads! My name's Clara. I'm a mum of 3, not so young sons. I have been working as a qualified gym instructor/personal trainer, for the past 8 yrs and although i am extremely passionate about my work, i feel it's time to engage in a new career that i am just as passionate about...and that is why i am currently studying cert 3 in Early Childhood Education & care, and will continue on next year with the diploma. I have a current police check and working with children check and am due to update my first aid in the next few weeks. I worked as a family day care provider in my own home, around14 yrs ago, while my own children were pre schoolers. I provided high quality care for children from infants to 12yrs of age. I still have some old references from some very happy mums, and would be happy to provide them upon request. I have also done some volunteer work, very recently, at Yappera Children's Long Day Care Centre, and am also happy to provide references from them. I am fit, creative,young at heart and LOTS of fun, and children are instantly drawn to me. I guess it's because they can sense how mum i love being in their company. I am hoping to connect with the right family and be given this great opportunity to work with you and your child/children, and i know it will be a positive and rewarding experience for all of us :)

Because of my warm and open nature, people always feel comfortable confiding in me and come to me for help and advice, which i am always more than willing to give whole heartedly. I have great respect for children and believe their voices should always be heard and made to feel important. I respect and understand that all families have their own values and beliefs and i will respect all wishes and requests of the families, where these values are concerned. I am a great cook and love to encourage (not enforce) healthy eating, in a positive and educational way. I am also happy to help out with house duties as i know how tough it can be for a busy mum with young children to keep up with household chores.
What kids love about me
I know that kids love being around me just as much as l love being around them, just by the way that they engage with me. I have great energy and keep myself physically fit. As a group fitness instructor i am really good at coming up with fun activities for all ages. I am kind and nurturing and very empathetic.This allows me to connect well with children as i have a deep understanding of their needs, and emotions,always making them feel understood and important. I am also great at creative play, such as make believe and story telling and like to incorporate some educational activities. I love getting out into nature and am also a great lover of animals, so any pets, would also be cared for if need be.
What I love about this work
For me, this sort of work keeps me connected to young children. I find being in the company of children very rewarding as i find we have much to learn from their wonderment and love of life. It will also be very rewarding for me to be of service to young families in my community, as I know it can be very hard to find high quality help and care from someone you can trust. I am confident that i can provide such service.
